Programming

Urban Culture Project’s consistently high-quality, edgy and surprising mix of programming has earned it critical and popular recognition as a hub for artists and unconventional, challenging new work. UCP has also been a leader in the community in proactively bridging and blurring the boundaries between disciplines, promoting collaboration and exchange among artists in the fields of visual art, film and video, theater, performance, music, dance, architecture and design.

As a result of relationships cultivated through UCP’s efforts over time, and fueled by The Andy Warhol Foundation’s recognition and support for our programming, which places us in the ranks of top contemporary arts organizations nationally, we are steadily gaining attention from artists and curators in other cities who wish to collaborate. As UCP evolves, and in response to input from the local arts community, we are mixing the work of regional, national, and even international artists into our programs, thus creating a broader context for the work of local artists and establishing new channels for collaboration and exchange. Having completed more than five years of ongoing operation, with hundreds of exhibitions, performances, events and programs presented, UCP continues to grow and evolve in response to input from the artists and curators and new opportunities that arise.

Urban Culture Project enthusiastically welcomes application from curators and artists of all media and disciplines wishing to produce exhibitions, live performances, video screenings and other art and cultural events. Proposals are reviewed quarterly by UCP’s curatorial committee. Download an application here.
